Expert Advice for New Owners
Nurturing Your Yorkie Puppy
Essential tips from our Ville Platte home to yours to ensure your new companion thrives from day one.
Health & Diet
Balanced Nutrition for Tiny Tummies
Fueling Growth and Energy
Yorkies have high metabolic rates and require nutrient-dense meals specifically formulated for toy breeds. We recommend small, frequent feedings of high-quality kibble to maintain steady blood sugar levels and support their iconic silky coats. We feed our puppies Royal Canin Puppy Food and they are all on NuVet vitamins.
Coat Care
Maintaining the Signature Silky Coat
Grooming Essentials for AKC Yorkies
Regular brushing is vital to prevent mats in your Yorkie's fine, human-like hair. Start a grooming routine early with gentle baths and face trimming to keep your puppy looking like a show-stopper and feeling comfortable in their own skin.
Behavior
Big Personalities in Small Packages
Socialization and Early Training
Despite their size, Yorkies are brave and intelligent; they benefit greatly from early socialization in our Louisiana home. Positive reinforcement training helps channel their spirited nature into well-behaved companionship for any American household.
Safety First
Keeping Your Tiny Friend Safe
Home Proofing and Health Checks
Create a puppy-proof zone to protect your small explorer from household hazards like low-hanging cords or heavy foot traffic. Regular vet visits and monitoring for hypoglycemia are key steps in ensuring your AKC Yorkie lives a long, vibrant life.
